Toshiba has launched the industry's most advanced 2.5-inch hard disk drive, the MK1233GAS.
This drive is the world's first drive to offer 100.5 gigabits of data per square inch. It provides 120GB of storage in a 9.5mm form factor.
Toshiba was able to achieve this replacing the Pico Sliders attached to the drive's heads with Femto Sliders that are lighter and 35 percent smaller.
Power consumption of the MK1233GAS is approximately 20 percent lower on average than the company’s current drive range.
Weighing in at 98 grams, Toshiba's MK1233GAS 120GB HDD breaks current capacity barriers, providing a compact, rugged solution for digital applications with insatiable appetites.
