You can now store up to 250MB of data on a removable Zip data cartridge with the IBM Zip 250MB Internal Drive. It can be used in combination with, or in place of, 1.44MB diskette drives currently installed in commercial desktop computer systems. The IBM Zip 250MB Internal Drive features a storage capacity of more than 173 1.44MB diskettes on one Zip 250 media cartridge; internal installation with connection to the IDE interface using either existing IDE cabling or the included 2- drop IDE cable; fast ATAPI Zip technology enabling a maximum sustained data transfer rate of 2.4MB per second; read/write capability for both Zip 100MB and Zip 250MB media; Zip tools with valuable format, backup, copy, and organising utilities for backup, transport, consolidation, organisation, and off-loading of valuable data from network or system hard disk drives and a power-down sleep mode to reduce unnecessary electrical power drain. The Zip 250MB Internal Drive can also be configured to function as the drive A: diskette drive for the system, enabling system boot-up from the drive.
